Marcus has been a leader at Amazon Web Services and was the 1st BIM Manager that Amazon hired to transform their data center design production staff from AutoCAD to BIM with a focus on the complete lifecycle management of BIM project geometry, information and methodologies.  In others words BIM with a capitol I.  Marcus lead the team that developed AWS's gold standard project template that decreased design production times, reduced errors and provided the means and methods for other project templates of differing configurations.  As an representative of an owner and operator of AWS data center facilities, Marcus' team bridged the gap of BIM design information, decreased long lead time procurement and provided accurate facility operational data in order to create a true level 3 BIM project lifecycle management workflow.  Marcus also was responsible for creating the internal BIM and team wiki's that was used to help internal customers of project geometry and BIM data to support the BIM design production and construction teams.  Marcus has also created a Virtual Reality QC program used to verify the design of AWS' datacenters in coordination with engineering staff.  In addition he also created an internal video training and seminar channel and also shepherded staff to contribute and create presentations on advanced means and methods of BIM design and construction techniques.

Seattle Children’s Research Institute: Seattle, Washington, 600,00 sq. ft.:  High tech laboratory and vivarium cancer research institute.  Achieved high level of design detail (LOD 350) of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and technology BIM models in Revit.  Primary BIM lead and conducted BIM project management of multi-disciplinary engineering project team.

Teck Acute Care Center: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 580,000 sq. ft.:  Canadian P3 project to replace primary building of major hospital facility for Vancouver, BC.  Achieved as-built level of design detail (LOD 400) of mechanical, plumbing and technology BIM models in Revit.  Primary BIM lead and conducted BIM project management of multi-disciplinary engineering project team for the entire 3½ year duration of project.

BIM/CAD Management:  Upgraded company from AutoCAD MEP 2007 2D-only to AutoCAD MEP 2012 2D/3D & Revit MEP 2012/2013.  Launched BIM within the firm.  Provided training for staff on AutoCAD MEP 2012 and Revit MEP 2012/2013.  Developed company AutoCAD MEP templates and standards.  Developed company AutoCAD MEP 2012 menus.  Developed company Revit families and templates. Administered company servers.  Managed upgrade of old servers to new servers in a virtualized environment.  Upgraded all companies’ workstations from Windows XP to Windows 7 64 bit.  Deployed new computers as company grew by a third in 1 year. Administered all user account profiles and email accounts.  Administered network gateway firewall, VPN, remote desktop and workstation anti-virus software.  Maintained 45 workstations and network access points. Maintained all workstation software licensing and software installs.  Maintained office printers and large format plotters.  Provided general software and printer support and troubleshooting.  Coordinated purchasing and configuration of new plotter.

Sound Transit: 7 Stations of the East Link Line: Puget Sound Region, Washington:  CAD project management of mechanical, plumbing and electrical teams of 7 stations for Sound Transit.  Wrote an automated project file creation application to generate and cross X-referenced over 1200 CAD files decreasing labor cost in the creation of all construction document project CAD files all using Sound Transit's CAD standards.

Project and BIM Management and Services: Provided AEC companies with BIM training, support, implementation and customized interface and setups to enable them to work with BIM.  Provided BIM consulting services on multiple US Army corps projects providing architectural, structural, mechanical and plumbing BIM modeling, project management and team training.   Created a custom workspace installer application for the US Army Corp workspace to enable project partners to get going quickly.  Developed Revit families for equipment manufactures.

Schofield Barracks Health Care Facility: Fort Shafter, Oahu Hawaii - Bentley/Army Corps Engineers: Created highly detailed architectural, structural and electrical BIM as-built models of 14 historical buildings that had been remodeled 5-6 times since their original conception dating back to 1902.  Reviewed over 12,000 design construction documents of multiple re-designs and additions to the 14 buildings on the facility.  The BIMechanics team conducted extensive interior and exterior field measurements of the existing conditions of all buildings in the facility while in operation.  The combination of these went into the modeling and completion of these models to a LOD of 400.

BIM Management: Lead the migration of MicroStation (CAD) version 7 to Bentley Architecture (BIM) version 8.  Launched and promoted internal use of BIM and achieved a 50% project adoption within four years. Implemented corporate BIM processes, developed and maintained corporate BIM & CAD standards. Programmed custom tools that increased efficiency, most of which are still in use today, including a detail library management system that contained all the firm’s standard details used in projects.  Also created internal builds of the BIM applications and trained over 200 staff.  Lead project launches that got project teams up and running rapidly with intensive training and technical project charrettes.  Managed project teams that utilized complex technical processes and workflows on several key projects.  Member of the international Bentley Architectural User Council and Visualization User Council that provided feedback to Bentley Systems.  Setup and maintained a laser cutter used for the creation of architectural models.  Also served as a backup Help Desk Analyst.

State Route 520 Bridge redesign: Puget Sound Region, Washington: Created composite 3D model of over 12 square miles of the State Route 520 using a combination of sources including topographic, GIS, aerial photography, surveys, 3D engineering model and 2D designs to form a composite model that included aerial photography draped textures on a 3D ground with all building, trees and detailed roadway complete with cars and people along the 520 corridor from I-5 to I-405. We generated hundreds of high resolution design concept renderings and animations simulating real-world perspectives directly from the design team that were used in public forums and discussions to explain all project design alternates.
